Resurrection University hosts a "Men in Healthcare" panel
CHICAGO, March 30, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Resurrection University, a College of Nursing and a College of Allied Health, is hosting a Men in Healthcare Speaker Series featuring a panel of men whose careers are in nursing, radiography and health informatics on Saturday, April 11 from 9:30 a.m. – 12 noon at 1431 N. Claremont in Chicago. Guests are asked to register for this FREE event at www.resuthinkingoutloud.com.
"A 6'7" nurse who was a former football player? That's me," says Chauncey Incarnato, "If I could go from the football field to being a struggling student, to earning a BSN and building a nursing career, you can too." He added, "Don't put your life on hold – nursing needs men."
Aric Shimek, who previously lived in London and worked in commercial real estate, is now a nurse who's working at a prestigious children's hospital in Chicago. "My advice to anyone – especially to men who might be considering nursing as a career is simple – Go for it," continued Shimek, "In as little as 16 months, you can have a totally different life."
Incarnato and Shimek are presenting on the panel along with men with over 20 years of experience in the fields of nursing, radiography and health informatics. Panelists include:
Dale Beatty
Chief Nursing Officer
University of Illinois Hospital and Health Sciences System
Ian Bonador

The panel will speak candidly about the challenges and rewards of being men in these fields, as well as any stigmas or stereotypes they may face in roles that are traditionally dominated by women, such as nursing.
