Retired Journalist-Federal Media Man Debuts with Intriguing Collection
Author Larry Moran's first short story collection will be featured at this year's Frankfurt Book Fair in Frankfurt, Germany on October 9-13, 2013
BOWIE, Md., Aug. 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Maryland resident Larry Moran's debut book Hoosier Hysteria, Sons, and Other Stories gives readers a diverse collection of short stories. The book offers several different genres, story themes, emotions, and characterizations in one great read that appeals to audiences of various ages. Some of the stories make readers laugh and others make them think or feel. In most stories, characters find themselves in difficult or uncertain situations, letting readers ponder how they might deal with those situations. This book has no political or social message; it merely wants to entertain as it offers themes of hope, humor, betrayal, revenge, disappointment, suspense, and surprise.
Three stories are humorous; two are thrillers; one looks at the human soul; and two stories border on science fiction. Some feature teenagers or young adults, while others focus on much older characters. And many of the stories are not set in the opening years of the 21st century. The book's diversity means nearly every reader will relate to some of its characters and situations. Another appealing feature is that all of the stories have interesting twists, so readers will be intrigued by each story and surprised by its ending.
Each of the eight stories in the book is entertaining and will appeal to readers who enjoy diverse themes and characters. All are easy to read and most are appropriate for all readers from teenagers to grandparents.
