LANCASTER, Ohio, Jan. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Retriev Technologies Inc., a global leader in the field of battery recycling and management, is pleased to announce the appointment of Joseph A. Acker, Jr. as President of its North American operations.
Mr. Acker has worked in various capacities throughout the battery industry and has over 25 years of related experience in the battery recycling field. Mr. Acker started his career as part of a core team to design and construct a large scale battery recycling operation for Exide Technologies. In 2010, he left his post as Vice president and General Manager of Exide's recycling division and accepted the position of Vice President of Technology at Johnson Controls. These experiences make Mr. Acker the ideal candidate to lead Retriev Technologies into the 21st century. As president of Retriev Technologies, Mr. Acker will direct all facets of Retriev's operations - including plant management, recycling line construction, technology R&D, customer acquisition and business development.
"I am excited to be part of the Retriev team and I look forward to working in this dynamic and changing market," said Mr. Acker. "Retriev is on the cutting edge of bringing new recycling technologies to the forefront and I am honored to have been asked to lead the way."
Steven Kinsbursky – who previously served as President of Retriev Technologies – will remain on as Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Kinsbursky will retain an active leadership role at Retriev Technologies and continue to be a resource for Mr. Acker. "I am looking forward to working with Joe and continuing our mission to make Retriev the premier battery recycling company in North America," said Mr. Kinsbursky.
