NEW YORK, Oct. 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Strata & Hadoop World Conference -- Revelytix announces today the preview of Loom Weaver, a significant new feature for Loom targeted at data scientists and others working with and managing the complex data landscapes in Hadoop clusters. Loom Weaver enables sophisticated data preparation with Hadoop-based data via an easy to use web interface. The Loom Weaver preview is being made at the Strata - Hadoop World conference in New York.
Loom Weaver allows users to quickly and easily sample data residing in HDFS for data munging. Once all of the munging operations have been specified on the sample data, users can immediately reformat the original file in HDFS regardless of size. Loom will generate all of the MapReduce required to execute the operations specified in the munging workflow in Weaver. Because Weaver is fully integrated with Loom, the lineage of all data transformations is automatically tracked and displayed as a graph.
Users like the simplified view that Loom provides for data lakes, transformations and analytics that use Hadoop. Loom Lineage Graphs provide an easy to grasp picture of the complex chain of data transformations. Loom's Activescan feature dynamically generates statistical metadata about HDFS files so that users can determine what data is the right data for their use case. These functions provide a comprehensive record of transformations that establishes data provenance.
Loom Weaver will be included in the Loom 2.0 release in November. Weaver is built on top of Loom's sophisticated metadata management and lineage technology to greatly simplify the process of finding and processing the right data for each analytic task.
Revelytix partners for Loom include: ASG Software Solutions, Cloudera, Hortonworks, Knowledgent, MapR, Pivotal, Revolution Analytics, Spry and Teradata.
