Rice Epicurean Markets Announces Multi-Million Dollar Remodel of West University/Medical Center Location

HOUSTON, May 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Gary Friedlander, President of Houston based Rice Epicurean Markets, announced today a multi-million dollar remodel of the store located in the West University/Medical Center area at 2617 West Holcombe at Kirby in Houston.

The remodel will be used to increase the size and location of the fresh food departments with a dramatic new layout. Customers will immediately notice the changes as they enter the store into the relocated fresh Produce & Floral departments.

The Meat and Seafood, Chef Prepared Foods, Fresh Bakery, and the Fine Wine Departments will be enlarged and renovated as well. In addition, the store's interior and exterior will be completely renovated at the same time.

The design for the newly remodeled West University store, created by Hermes Architects, is a purposeful attempt to integrate the dynamic " West University and Medical Center " spirit into a new shopping experience.

Through the careful integration of high quality materials, numerous lighting sources, a new, open and fresh shopping experience will be created in this highly energized urban environment. Construction is slated to begin in June and be completed in early August. The store will be closed during the construction. U.S. Builders is the general contractor for the renovation.

The West University location was opened in 1994.
