Rich Dad Education Exceeds American Lung Association Fundraising Goal
CAPE CORAL, Fla., May 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Rich Dad Education is extremely pleased to announce that they have exceeded their fundraising goal for this year's Fight for Air Climb to benefit the American Lung Association.
The 2013 climb was held on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at High Point Place in downtown Ft. Myers, Florida. Participants climbed thirty flights of stairs to raise money and awareness for those who struggle with lung diseases such as asthma and lung cancer. The Rich Dad Education team raised a total $1,250.01, well over their goal of $1,000, placing them among the top five teams taking part in the event.
The Rich Dad Education climb team was organized and led by Deanna Heminger to celebrate and honor her mother, Joan Beerwart. Ms. Heminger explained her reasons for getting involved in this project. "No one should struggle to breathe. My mom is a recent lung cancer survivor. She never gave up. She never quit fighting. Every dollar that is raised could save another life. It helped save my mom's life!"
Together with fellow Rich Dad Education employees Charlene Orsine and Ronnie Diaz as well as Ms. Heminger's sister, Jamie Green, the team named itself "Joan's Remission Renegades." Rich Dad Education sponsored each of the Company's registrants for the climb by paying their $25 registration fee. In addition, each participant committed to raising an additional $100 in pledges. Company employees were encouraged to donate to show their support for the team.

More importantly, it was another opportunity for us to contribute to this community that has treated us so well through the years."
Total proceeds for the event in Southeast Florida have now exceeded the $40,000 mark. "We appreciate all that Rich Dad Education did to help us raise money," remarked Kurt Goerke, Area Director of the American Lung Association in Florida. "We are already hard at work using the money to hold a week-long summer camp from July 24th through July 29th for kids with severe asthma. Usually around ninety families send kids from around the state, including many from right here in our area, Not a single family has to pay a penny thanks to events like our climb.
