Richmond's All Fired Up to Celebrate 15 Years, Donates $1,500 with User-Generated Contest
Art enthusiasts throughout the Richmond metro region can participate in the I Heart Art contest, hosted by All Fired Up, to win gift certificates, free studio sessions and a $1,500 donation to a local school's art program.
RICHMOND, Va., April 21, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- For 15 years, All Fired Up in Carytown has been Richmond's original paint your own ceramics studio for local artists, birthday parties, date nights, field trips and fundraising. To celebrate this milestone, the company that allows customers to create mugs, plates, clay creations and even fused glass art is letting Richmonders compete to earn free studio sessions, gift certificates and more in its I Heart Art contest now through May 8, 2011. The grand prize? A $50 gift certificate to All Fired Up, 15 free studio fees and a $1,500 donation to a local school's art program -- and the winner gets to choose the school.
"The local arts community in Richmond has big needs and we want to help," said Amy Talley, owner of All Fired Up. "It's just too difficult for us to pick one school that needs the money 'the most,' so we created the I Heart Art contest to allow someone in the area, who feels passionately about art, to pick for us."
To enter the I Heart Art contest, all one has to do is visit All Fired Up's 15-year-old Carytown shop or 2-year-old Midlothian studio and paint what art means to them on a coupe salad plate. All Fired Up's team will then pick the best 15 entries and post them to their Facebook page for fans to vote on between May 16 and May 31, 2011. The entry with the most votes from Facebook users will win the $50 gift certificate, 15 free studio fees and $1,500 donation to a local school's art program of their choice. Two runners-up will also win $50 gift certificates; and every participant in the contest will receive $5 in All Fired Up's special tender called "Kiln Cash."
All Fired Up will also host a special event in June to showcase all of the work from the participants, announce the winner and donate the $1,500 to the winning school's representatives. Members of the press are invited to attend this event, and more information will be delivered in the upcoming month.
