MALVERN, Pa., Aug. 10, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Ricoh USA, Inc. today unveiled its latest 9-megapixel lenses, 12mm and 16mm, to help users capture high-resolution images from within mere millimeters of the lens. Perfect for industrial and professional settings, Ricoh's series of 9-megapixel lenses leverage a floating mechanism to enable low-distortion, high-resolution image capture at all ranges, boasting a point-blank range of 80mm that yields quality superior to close-up extension rigs.
This series of lenses, compatible with 1" format cameras with up to 9-megapixel resolution, rounds out the bottom end of its focal length spectrum with the introduction of the 12mm and 16mm options. These shortened focal-length lenses, with their wide-angle views, are suitable for a wide variety of visual inspection uses including reviewing circuit boards for issues; verifying type on printed matter; inspecting food and pharmaceuticals; and other applications where a wide range of items require careful, close inspection. The lenses' high resolution throughout the entire field of view allows for the kind of detailed measurements and inspection these tasks demand. These latest additions complete Ricoh's series of 9-megapixel lenses, which include 25mm, 35mm, 50mm and 75mm versions, and lend flexibility to a line designed to meet virtually any high-resolution need in the FA arena at high quality and reasonable cost.
Furthermore, the newest lenses' compact design make them suitable for many different positions and uses while maintaining high resolution from the center to their edges. With such consistent resolution throughout the field of view, these lenses provide accurate images for careful review, even when not centered on areas of focus.
"In so many industries, quality control is paramount. Where accuracy is important, rigorous, detailed review processes are important, too," said John Brophy, Vice President, Product Marketing, Ricoh USA, Inc. "These compact, powerful, close-range, wide-angle lenses make that kind of careful review not only possible, but easier and more reliable than manual approaches. Additionally, using these lenses help provide a clear record that can be checked, double-checked, stored and shared quickly and easily."
