SEATTLE, Nov. 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Rival IQ, a digital marketing analytics company, today announced additional funding of nearly $1 million from existing and new investors designed to fuel the software company's continued growth and product expansion. Founded by veterans of the Seattle startup scene in January 2013, Rival IQ has raised $2 million to date, while quickly growing to hundreds of paid customers across 25 countries in addition to thousands of free users.
"The marketing analytics market is hot but also crowded, and Rival IQ is uniquely bringing together competitive intelligence, social media analytics and Web marketing in a single online tool that eliminates the need for multiple products or weeks of manual analysis, and in doing so are building a sustainable value proposition both for customers and investors," said Jay Baer, president of marketing consultancy Convince & Convert, best-selling author, and angel investor.
Rival IQ provides digital marketing analytics with a competitive perspective for marketers at both organizations and marketing agencies hoping to better compete and improve their marketing initiatives across social media, search engine optimization (SEO) and website content. Rival IQ says the funds will go toward further engineering and marketing investments as well as global support.
"At a strategic level, Rival IQ has revolutionized the way we do a social competitive analysis, and we are often the first to know what our competitors are doing behind the scenes, said Chris Mikulin, Digital Strategist, Kick Point Inc., a leading digital marketing agency in Canada. "With Rival IQ, we also have streamlined our process for coaching clients on social media, as we can quickly access their best and worst content and make recommendations with data to back it up."
Existing investors providing additional financing this round include Vulcan Capital, Gravity Ventures, and Galvanize Venture Fund, as well as angels, including Rudy Gadre, Kristopher Brown and marketing expert Jay Baer. New investors include Confluence Capital, well known Seattle angels Geoff Entress and Gary Rubens, as well as GNIP (acquired by Twitter) founder and CEO Jud Valeski.
Since its initial seed round in January 2014, Rival IQ has significantly grown its customer base, number of companies tracked, digital channels supported and product ease of use. It now provides detailed analytics, positioning and top social content for six social networks: Twitter, Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, YouTube and Instagram. In the last few months, Rival IQ added Website keyword rankings, including search volume, approximate cost, estimated advertising spend and other metrics, enabling marketers to view both their own and their competitors' keyword performance.
"This is a further vote of confidence in our strategy and market penetration by both existing and new investors," said John Clark, Founder and CEO of Rival IQ. "In addressing challenges that marketers face every day, we have found real resonance with our customer base, and we want to expand our approaches to engage with them as well as add more features to help them be even more successful."
Rival IQ differentiates itself in the market by providing a single online destination for detailed analytics, content and reports for both a target company and its competition across six social networks, organic and paid keywords, and website content. Rival IQ's subscriptions range from $99 to $399 per month, as well as volume plans for large enterprises or agencies.
