Riverset Credit Union Announces Charity Of Choice For 2015
Community-based financial institution selects The Education Partnership as official charity
PITTSBURGH, Jan. 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Riverset (www.riverset.com), a community-based financial institution is pleased to announce a yearlong collaboration with The Education Partnership. The Education Partnership is a 501 (c) 3 dedicated to addressing educational inequities in local schools by providing supplies to support teachers and enhance students' ability to learn. Riverset has chosen The Education Partnership as a charity of choice for 2015, creating a closer alliance between the credit union and the charity, in order for Riverset to become more actively involved in the mission of Education Partnership.
Riverset Credit Union, formerly the Pittsburgh Teacher's Credit Union is an active participant in many community and charity organizations through their program Riverset Gives. Riverset has a very active community outreach, volunteer and charitable program, Riverset GIVES, Growing the community by Impacting the lives of others through Volunteerism Efforts. This program encourages employees and credit union members to volunteer their time and engage in opportunities to advance community betterment. It also creates a positive company culture that extends into the local community as well.

The Education Partnership serves schools where 70% or more of the students qualify for a free or reduced lunch through the National School Lunch Program and are chosen through an application process. Over 100 schools in the six-county region served are eligible to receive free school supplies and other resources. In the third year of operation, The Education Partnership served 750 teachers, 12,200 students and distributed $958,000 worth of school supplies.
