Company Achieves Significant Margin Growth by Reducing Idle Time and Increasing Productivity

SKOKIE, Ill., May 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Just weeks after RJW Transport, Inc. implemented Rand McNally's TND™ 760 fleet management devices across its fleet, executives report that the company is exceeding the goals of its investment. Based in Woodridge, Illinois, RJW Transport (RJW) provides truckload and less-than-truckload transportation across the United States and Canada, as well as warehousing operations.

The 140-truck fleet, initially investigated a fleet management solution to accomplish two objectives: 1) Automate HOS logs and fuel tax reporting, and 2) Increase miles per gallon with better navigation and a reduction in idle time.

Since implementation a little more than a month ago, Williamson reports that idle time – a key measurement for the company – has been reduced from 40% to 20%.  RJW intends to continue to work toward a 5% idle time.
