
MADISON, Wis., Jan. 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- RMT, Inc. (RMT) recently named Rod Courtney Director of Health and Safety for its Construction division. In this role, Courtney will continue to advance RMT's health and safety program through his oversight and leadership. Specifically, he will focus on streamlining health and safety processes, enhancing behavior-based safety practices, and ensuring compliance with RMT's best industry practices.

Courtney brings to RMT nearly fifteen years of experience working as a health and safety professional on large construction projects across the U.S. and abroad. He has managed all aspects of health and safety programs, including developing new policies and procedures, implementing training programs, and conducting incident analyses. Courtney spent the past five years working on wind and solar energy projects as a Health, Safety, and Environmental Engineer.

Courtney has a B.S. in Occupational Health and Safety from Columbia Southern University, and is a Certified Site Safety Technician. He serves as a certified instructor for a number of health and safety courses, including mining safety and health, scaffold competent person, tower rescue, heavy equipment, trenching and excavation, and ergonomics. Courtney is also an active member of the American Society of Safety Engineers, American Industrial Hygiene Association, and American Wind Energy Association.
