THE WOODLANDS, Texas, Oct. 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Internet technology leader, iWowWe.com, announces their support of the inaugural "Woman Build" project for Habitat for Humanity. In addition to donating cash and manpower to the actual construction, iWowWe will also co-sponsor and participate in the two-part event that also features a Road Rally.
Working with the Montgomery County Habitat for Humanity (HfHMC), iWowWe will provide a team of drivers in the 2nd annual "Road Rally" benefiting HfHMC's inaugural Women Build. The theme for this year's event is "Rev it Up!" and is set for Saturday, October 6 at BMW – Mini Cooper of The Woodlands. Check-in begins at 3 pm, followed by the rally at 4 pm and winners' circle celebration at 6 pm.
Habitat's Road Rally will take drivers, ages 25 and up, to a series of surprise destinations with cryptic clues and challenges along the way. Registration for the rally began September 1, and is limited to 25 drivers. The Woodlands BMW-Mini Cooper will provide cars with 25 drivers. The cost is $220 per car with up to four people per car. Drivers are encouraged to bring family and friends to help them celebrate at the finish line.
All proceeds from the Road Rally will benefit the Montgomery County Habitat for Humanity's Women Build. "Women Build is about building a home with a focus on promoting women as leaders and providing an opportunity for them to learn new trades or skills under the direction of both men and women skilled leaders," said Barbara McGregor, Event Chair for Women Build. "It is about spirit, empowerment, solidarity, fun, learning and a whole lot of pride in working with a family to build a place they can call home."
According to Casey Minshew, COO of iWowWe.com, the Habitat for Humanity project is one of the first events in their "iCare-iGive-iWowWe" charity effort. "We are not only looking to give back to our community, but also encouraging our Independent Affiliates around the world to do the same."
