Rob Lowe Partners with InsideHook.com to Launch Los Angeles Edition
LOS ANGELES, April 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- InsideHook.com, the premium digital lifestyle brand that recommends unique products and experiences for established and adventurous men, announces its partnership with actor, author and investor Rob Lowe for the launch of its Los Angeles edition. Lowe will serve as partner, advisor and curator for InsideHook.com's Los Angeles efforts, selecting his favorite restaurants, outdoor adventures, gear and other discoveries for InsideHook.com's daily emails to its LA audience. Lowe joins actor and director Ed Burns, who partnered with the InsideHook.com team to launch their New York edition in June 2012.
"I know what it feels like to not have the time to seek out new experiences on my own and be stuck in a rut going to the same restaurants, same stores and same vacation spots. As a Los Angeles native, I am thrilled to work with InsideHook.com's editors as we scour Southern California in search of authentic finds," said Lowe. "I'm excited to help men like me take advantage of our amazing climate and geography via our daily recommendations that focus on adventures and one-of-a-kind experiences."
To celebrate the Los Angeles launch and highlight the types of activities he would be curating, Lowe recently joined the InsideHook.com team to experience the thrill of jetpack flight over water with Jetlev Southwest in Newport Beach. The avid surfer and water-sports enthusiast joked "they've brought me here to the flying jetpack because they're clearly trying to kill me", before taking off for an exhilarating flight: http://www.insidehook.com/los-angeles/introducing-rob-lowe.
InsideHook.com's email recommendations were previously only available in their New York and National editions. Now Los Angeles readers can enjoy exclusive insight and offers specific to their West Coast hometown, with cities such as San Francisco and Chicago soon to follow in the coming months. Subscribers to the Los Angeles edition will receive daily tips and insider information such as:
- The Stampd Rolex: a stylish collaboration between Rolex and LA-based designer Chris Stamp that features limited edition Rolex watches with monochromized Stars and Stripes on the face.
- Skythrills: a long-running stunt flying concern that offers open cockpit flights in So-Cal to thrill seekers everywhere.
- WWII Hike of Rustic Canyon: deep within Rustic Canyons beyond the sprawling mansions are the ruins of a WWII fortress built by German spies in the 1930s, accessible through Will Rogers State Park.
- Food Shop: a pop-up dinner party in Venice providing farm-to-table eats in a romantically lit metalsmith's studio that now takes reservations.
InsideHook.com's Los Angeles Editor, Reuben Brody, will work with Lowe to find high-quality experiences in content categories such as food and drink, action, tech, culture, style, health and travel.
"Given InsideHook.com's readership of influencers, tastemakers, entrepreneurs and leaders in their fields, Los Angeles was the obvious choice for InsideHook.com's second market," says co-founder Jonathan Keidan. "The InsideHook.com man is in Los Angeles and cares about the new and exciting happenings of the city that he has yet to experience."
Since launching in May 2012, InsideHook.com has grown faster to date than any of its peers, and created unique campaigns, including "Man of the Month" and offline activations for well-known brands like Audi, Lexus, Citi, Glenlivet, Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger. About InsideHook.com
InsideHook.com, the premium digital lifestyle brand for established men, curates and recommends unique products and experiences through email, social media and events. The InsideHook.com man wants to fill his social calendar with an exciting range of rarified experiences -- everything from underground supper clubs, to thrilling outdoor adventures, to little-known clothiers and one-of-a-kind gifts -- but he doesn't have the time to find these things on his own. Cue InsideHook.com: their editors find the best experiences, products and services to recommend to their affluent male audience each day, and deliver them to their inboxes with a dash of wit and charm. In 2012, Andy Russell (partner at Bob Pittman's Pilot Group, led the investments in Daily Candy, Thrillist, and TastingTable) founded Trigger Media and co-founded InsideHook.com – the first media brand under Trigger – with seasoned entrepreneurs Jon Keidan (former COO of Jack Welch Management Institute) and Nick Michlewicz (formerly McKinsey & Company), and new CEO Aly Racer. Currently, InsideHook.com publishes New York, LA and National editions, with plans to launch in San Francisco and Chicago this year.
