
Robert and Patricia Switzer Foundation Awards Over $145,000 in Environmental Leadership and Collaborative Grants
BELFAST, Maine, March 13, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Four grants totaling over $145,000 were awarded under the Switzer Leadership Grant Program and Switzer Collaborative Initiatives Fund in December, 2011.
The Switzer Leadership Grant program provides up to $40,000 to organizations which partner with a Switzer Fellow on a project that aims to directly improve environmental quality. The Switzer Collaborative Initiatives Fund, which was recently folded into the Switzer Network Innovation Grants program, funds collaborative work between and among Switzer Fellows to address an environmental problem. The grantees are:
Whale Trust (Maui, HI) and Switzer Fellow Dr. Meagan Jones - $30,000 – Year Two support for Executive Director
The Nature Conservancy, Adirondack Chapter (Keene Valley, NY) and Switzer Fellow Jessica Levine - $35,190 – Transportation Planning for Climate Adaptation and Aquatic Connectivity
Community Water Center (Visalia, CA) and Switzer Fellow Dr. Carolina Balazs - $40,000 – Cumulative Impacts and Sustainable Solutions: Central Valley Water
World Resources Institute (Washington, D.C.) and Switzer Fellows Todd Gartner and Dr. Josh Donlan - $40,000 – Candidate Conservation Banking Pilot Program
