Robert Gates Joins Federal Companies as General Counsel and Vice President of Human Resources

Bob's duties will include oversight of all public and regulatory compliance including all customer contracts, dept. of transportation, state and federal regulatory entities, carrier compliance; oversight and responsible as senior officer for risk assessment in all business practice; oversight and direct responsibility for the hiring, training, and career development of the employees in each business unit of the company, all internal administered health and human resources programs.

Prior to joining Federal Companies, Bob was a partner with Kavanagh, Scully, Sudow, White & Frederick P.C. in Peoria, representing corporations, small businesses, individuals and several local governments. Prior to joining Kavanagh, Bob was an attorney with the City of Chicago Office of the Corporation Counsel. Before law school, Bob was an economic development professional in the greater Cincinnati area. He coordinated the economic development efforts of political jurisdictions, focusing on business attraction strategies.

Bob earned degrees from Miami University ( Ohio ) and the John Marshall Law School. Bob is involved with various legal bar associations and civic organizations, including the United Way and Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce. Originally from Crystal Lake, Illinois, Bob and his wife, Lisa, have deep family roots in Peoria.
