Robert Marmerstein Joins Mainland Medical Center As Chief Operating Officer
HOUSTON, June 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- HCA affiliated Mainland Medical Center Chief Executive Officer, Michael Roussos, announced today that Robert Alexander Marmerstein has been named the Chief Operating Officer at Mainland Medical Center (MMC). Marmerstein comes to MMC from HCA affiliated LewisGale Medical Center (LGMC), a 506-bed HCA hospital located in Salem, Virginia, where he served as Associate Chief Operating Officer.
During his time at LewisGale, Marmerstein was instrumental in several key initiatives, including the comprehensive rebranding of the LewisGale Regional Health System, a redesign of the patient experience and multiple construction and renovation projects.

In addition to his responsibilities with LewisGale, Marmerstein served as a founding partner and board member of the Roanoke Health Care Alliance, a partnership between local providers across the continuum of care who collaborate to provide information, education and other resources to help local families navigate the health care system. Rob was also active with the United Way of Roanoke Valley and managed LGMC's annual employee giving campaign, helping to raise more than $200,000.
Marmerstein is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management from the Rosen College of Hospitality Management at the University of Central Florida, and his Master of Health Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Rob Marmerstein began his new position at Mainland Medical Center on Friday, June 19, 2015.
