Ross Medical Group Announces Addition of Primary Care Sports Medicine Division
MIAMI, Sept. 26, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Ross Medical Group, a multi-disciplinary, West Kendall family practice founded by Dr. Michael L. Ross, D.O. that has served the South Florida community for over 20 years, is pleased to announce the opening of its Primary Care Sports Medicine division. The full-service practice will be helmed by David A. Ross, MD who is board certified in both Primary Care Sports Medicine and Family Medicine.
Dr. Ross recently completed a Fellowship with the University of Pennsylvania in its preeminent Primary Care Sports Medicine program, which is in its 19th year. He brings a wealth of field experience to the practice, having provided sports medicine-based treatment to athletes across the entire spectrum of age, sport and skill level for several years and in multiple settings.
Most recently, Dr. Ross served as an Assistant Team Physician with the National Hockey League's Philadelphia Flyers throughout the team's 2016-17 preseason and regular season. He served in the same capacity over that period with the National Football League's Philadelphia Eagles, providing his services throughout the team's training camp, preseason, regular season and offseason. Dr. Ross was also the Team Physician for the University of Pennsylvania's Men's and Women's Lacrosse teams, the Sprint Football team and the Men's Basketball team for multiple tenures between 2014 and 2017.

Ross Medical Group's Primary Care Sports Medicine division will strive to offer a full array of evaluation and treatment services to professional, amateur and recreational athletes of all ages and skill levels. Areas of specialization will include common exercise-and-sports-related conditions and injuries of the shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, feet, ankles, hands and wrists. Comprehensive concussion evaluation and management, pre-participation physical exams for athletes of all ages, joint injections and aspirations, viscosupplementation injections, bracing and splinting, in-house X-rays and testing for Exercise-Induced Compartment Syndrome will all be part of the practice's offerings.
Moreover, the Primary Care Sports Medicine division will work closely with Ross Medical Group's established Physical Therapy division to ensure the patient's complete recovery through comprehensive physical therapy and rehabilitation services. The Physical Therapy division is headed by Dr. Monica Ross, DPT, CMPT, and already offers a wide range of treatment and prevention services for a multitude of short-term and chronic injuries and conditions.
