Roy Jones Jr. and Keith Veltre Present Sanctuary Management
LAS VEGAS, April 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Four Division World Champion Boxing Legend Roy Jones Jr. and Las Vegas businessman Keith Veltre have partnered to form Sanctuary Management and take the boxing world by storm. A new breed of boxing management is on the horizon, raising the bar of principle and passion within the sport.
Sanctuary Management will provide a full range of services from strategic planning, training, and nutrition, while furnishing top-of-the-line equipment and facilities to allow athletes to perform at their highest level. Committed to the wellness of fighters; Sanctuary Management is focused on the long term success of its athletes. It is the purpose of Sanctuary Management to bring integrity, high ethical standards and dedication back to the sport of boxing.
Sanctuary Management signed its first boxer on April 14th, 2014. Handpicked by Roy Jones Jr. himself, Eric "Babyface" Johnson, a 154 Junior Middleweight, is the next top boxer in his division. With his fast hands, and similar fighting style to Roy, Babyface is committed to making a lasting impact on the sport.
Considered the best fighter of all time, Jones has proven himself in every weight class, all over the world. On December 21, in Moscow, Russia, Roy Jones Jr, defeated Frenchman, Zine Eddine Benmaklouf (17-3-1, 8 KO) to win the WBU Cruiserweight title, the German equivalent to a Cruiserweight Belt. Jones remains the only boxer to start his career as a lightweight fighter, and go on to win a heavy weight title. With this experience, knowledge, and pure passion of the sport, Jones wants to create a new generation of fighters and bring boxing back to the forefront of the sports world.
Roy is a long term critic of the current state of boxing management. Jones believes that the fighters are the most important and overlooked aspect of the sport, and feels a personal obligation to make things right. By changing how boxing is promoted and how fighters are treated, Jones strives to create a new atmosphere to the sport of boxing. "We as management, should make sure our fighters receive the best training, the best care, and are treated like the assets they are; that is how boxing makes a comeback."
Jones will play an active role for Sanctuary Management. He will be overseeing operations, but more importantly he will be working with fighters. Providing coaching, and fighter development, Roy Jones Jr. will be setting the new standard to boxing management.
Keith Veltre will play an integral role for business development and strategic planning. He will deal with day to day operations, and focus on sponsorship and promotional activities. Veltre is currently the CEO of Art of Music, owning a series of celebrity and athlete memorabilia stores headquartered in Las Vegas, spanning across the country. Art of Music regularly hosts boxers and other celebrities to interact with the public. Veltre is passionate about boxing and hopes to reignite the public's excitement in the sport.
This unique partnership will ultimately provide an unsurpassed atmosphere for training the most serious boxers and provide a new landscape for these fighters to flourish. Sanctuary Management already has their eye on several boxers and plan on using 2014 to scout new talent.
