(NYSE: RKUS) today announced it will supply next generation smart Wi-Fi technology and products for Golden 1 Center – the future home of the Sacramento Kings – and Downtown Commons (DOCO), the adjacent public plaza and surrounding mixed-use development. The advanced wireless initiative will redefine the digital experience for fans, visitors, vendors and businesses in and around Golden 1 Center through innovative new services delivered by the most advanced Wi-Fi technology available.
Slated to open in 2016 in downtown Sacramento, Golden 1 Center will be one of the most technically sophisticated sports venues, featuring a state-of-the-art indoor/outdoor Smart Wi-Fi system based on the newest 802.11ac Wave 2 standard. The network will enable the Kings to deliver a variety of new value-added and location-aware services including multicast replays from exclusive arena camera angles, seat upgrades, real time statistics, enhanced fan engagement and wayfinding services – all at exceptional speeds.

The infrastructure being deployed will deliver gigabit class wireless connections providing Wi-Fi performance that enables fans to experience Golden 1 Center in a ticketless, cashless and frictionless fashion. From the parking garages to the public plaza, the minute fans come to Golden 1 Center, they will be completely connected. The adjacent hotel and 1.5 million square feet of retail, recreation, office and housing space will also feature the robust network connectivity.
