The official "Fastest State in the Nation" will be awarded to the state with the fastest overall average of the top 100 finishers. Each of the top 100 finishers will receive a prestigious Run to Win America Elite 100 Trophy for 2013, and all runners in that state will receive a Run to Win America t-shirt pronouncing their state the Fastest State in the Nation. The Governor's Trophy will be awarded to the Governor of the state that has the most runners per capita in their state.
There are 14 other competitive categories each state will compete against the other states in. There are many other prizes and awards that will be provided as well.
This is the only nationally organized run of its kind where runners across the nation are connected through one run event. No other competitive event (running or otherwise) provides the opportunity for states to compete against one another, and runners are competing against runners across the nation.
Run To Win America is an innovative organization that challenges first-time and experienced runners to "run to win, run for health, or run for hope." A portion of proceeds for this highly anticipated series will be donated to Project Hope Worldwide, a charity that provides orphanage to children in Uganda who have been impacted by war and the AIDS epidemic.
