Russian School of Mathematics (RSM) Hosts Grand Opening of Buffalo Grove Branch
BUFFALO GROVE, Ill., Feb. 19, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Russian School of Mathematics (RSM) – the award-winning afterschool math program renowned for developing excellence in mathematics and lifelong critical thinking skills – will celebrate the grand opening of its Buffalo Grove/Wheeling branch on March 1, 2015. The event is free and open to the public. RSM-Buffalo Grove initially began accepting students last summer in response to a high demand for quality after-school math education in Chicago's northern suburbs.
The math school is led by Anna Kozhemyakov, a graduate of Leningrad Pedagogical University and veteran math teacher who brings to her role as Principal more than 20 years of teaching experience and extensive research in the field of teaching methodology.
"School teachers at RSM are dedicated, patient and enthusiastic with the extraordinary ability to make math fun, interesting, and challenging," says Eugenia Katsnelson, an RSM-Buffalo Grove Parent. "My daughter is in the seventh grade, very bright, but for the last couple of years has struggled with math concepts. In the hopes of improving her self-confidence in a difficult but essential skill in today's world, we signed her up for math classes at RSM. To my surprise, we witnessed not only my daughter's ever growing interest in math, but also her sense of self-esteem. To build confidence and learning to focus takes time, but it is evident that RSM's learning culture makes my daughter comfortable to learn, make mistakes, enjoy challenges, be curious and appreciate achievements."
RSM-Buffalo Grove's Grand Opening Celebration will be held on Sunday, March 1st from 11 - 1 pm. Families are invited to enjoy a variety of math games, meet RSM faculty, and receive a free student math evaluation. Details are below:
