RVT.com Reports RV Shopper Traffic Up 18% in 2016; RV Buyer Inquiries Rose 14%
SUMAS, Wash., Feb. 9, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- RVT.com, the leading Internet classifieds ad site for new and used RVs for sale, travel and 5th wheel trailers, motor homes and campers, is reporting that its RV shopper traffic rose 18 percent in 2016 compared with one year prior, and that RV buyer email inquiries increased by 14 percent over the same time period.
"Current positive trends in RV consumer spending, combined with the new marketing initiatives we launched last year -- including a major website redesign, advanced SEO upgrades, and increased consumer outreach through major advertising platforms -- have resulted in a significant jump in RV shopper traffic and inquiries," said Shawn Friesen, RVT.com vice president. "Last month, we had 460,000 unique RV consumers visit us, up from 390,000 in January 2015. This new traffic means more leads and ultimately more sales for dealers and private sellers listing on RVT."
In mid-2015, RVT.com completed a major design update to its website, featuring larger high resolution photographs and responsive design to improve site performance and functionality across all devices -- laptops, tablets and smartphones. These changes led to a 35% increase in unique user traffic and a 25% increase in lead traffic.
In late 2015, RVT.com introduced its new dynamic re-marketing online display advertising program which automatically creates banner ads using photos and information from RV listings which a consumer has viewed on RVT.com. The ads are then displayed on other websites which the consumer visits. Market research has shown that these dynamic re-marketing ads can generate up to 10 times more clicks than traditional online banner ads.
Friesen noted that RV buyers are still very active on the site, even though it is winter. "This is actually a great time for RV dealers and individual sellers to list their RVs for sale. Traffic and leads have spiked dramatically as of January 1st, and based on past traffic trends, we expect a steady increase well into the summer months," he said.
