According to Shawn Friesen, RVT.com vice president, the top searched RV types on RVT.com in February were Class A diesel (28%), Travel Trailers (17%) and Class A gasoline (11%). The top searched brands in each category included:
- Class A Diesel: Phaeton (Tiffin), Dutch Star (Newmar) and Allegro Bus (Tiffin)
- Travel Trailers: Springdale (Keystone), Jay Flight (Jayco) and Coleman (Dutchmen)
- Class A Gasoline: Bounder (Fleetwood), Adventurer (Winnebago) and Allegro (Tiffin)
Friesen revealed that that 47% of consumers shopping on RVT.com use desktop computers to conduct their searches. Mobile traffic from smartphones accounted for 31% of search traffic and searches from tablets comprise 22% of shopping traffic.
By age category, the breakdown for RV shoppers on RVT.com is:
- 34% are 55-64 years old
- 24% are over the age of 65
- 19% are 45-54 years old
- 13% are 35-44 years old, up 1.5% over 2015
