Dec 09, 2014, 16:15 ET from Safety Quick Lighting & Fans Corp.

ATLANTA, Dec. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Safety Quick Lighting & Fans Corp. (the "Company" or "SQL"), a manufacturer and distributor of ceiling fan and light fixtures with its patented safety plug technology, today announced that it has appointed John P. Campi as its new president and chief executive.  Mr. Campi replaces James R. Hills who recently stepped down to address personal demands.

John P. Campi is the founder and managing partner of Genesis Management, LLC, an organization specializing in supply chain and cost management initiatives. Previously, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Procurement Officer of Global Sourcing for Chrysler, LLC where he was responsible for all worldwide purchasing and supplier quality activities.  Before joining Chrysler, he served as the Senior Vice President of Sourcing and Vendor Management for The Home Depot where he led the drive for standardization and optimization of The Home Depot Global Supply Chain. Prior to joining The Home Depot, he served as Vice President and Chief Procurement Officer for Du Pont Global Sourcing and Logistics. Previous to joining DuPont, Mr. Campi also led the Global Sourcing activities for GE Power Energy (previously GE Power Systems). He has also held a variety of positions within the automotive industry - beginning his career at Federal Mogul before joining Parker Hannifin Corporation, and as a consultant to manufacturing and distribution organizations at PriceWaterhouse Coopers. Mr. Campi has extensive experience in the field of cost management and is recognized as a founder of the strategic cost-management discipline known as Activity-Based Cost Management.

Mr. Campi earned a Bachelor of Science in Business, majoring in accounting, at Indiana University and received his MBA at Case Western Reserve University.  He currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Case Western Reserve University and the Supply Chain Management Advisory Board for Clark Atlanta University. He has also served as a member of the Advisory Board of directors for three startup companies and is a past member of the Financial Executives Institute and the Institute of Management Accountants (member of the National Committee on Academic Relations), and he has served as President of the Alumni Board of Directors of the Case Western Reserve University Weatherhead School of Management.

Commenting on Mr. Campi's appointment, the Company's Board of Directors released the following statement, "John's extensive work background, especially at GE and Home Depot, should help SQL manage these critical relationships as it enters into the commercialization phase.  Having successfully completed extensive GE audits at our manufacturing plants in China, we now have five facilities to support our manufacturing and marketing capabilities.  John's experience in supply chain management is expected to be a great benefit in coordinating sales and production as lighting and fan fixtures imbedded with our ground breaking technology hit the market."

"The opportunity to participate in the introduction of a disruptive technology to a well-established industry that hasn't seen such innovation since the earthed (grounding) plug was invented in 1928 was one I could not pass up.  SQL's technology essentially turns ceiling lights and fans or wall sconces into interchangeable fixtures that plug into ceiling or walls, similar to table lamps, enabling consumers to change them in a few minutes without the support of a professional electrician," added Mr. Campi.  "I am looking forward to applying my experience to growing SQL into a dominant player as we move our technology to the industry standard."

The Company's Board of Directors further commented, "On behalf of our management team and board of directors, we want to thank Jim Hills for his efforts in bringing SQL to this level. Unfortunately, his need to attend to personal demands and interests preclude Jim from devoting the time necessary to effectively address the operational responsibilities of our fast growing company.  We wish him well in all his future endeavors."

About Safety Quick Lighting & Fans Corp.

Safety Quick Light ("SQL") is a patented, disruptive technology that is transforming the lighting and ceiling fan industry.  SQL's technology replaces the mounting bar built in existing electrical junction boxes (EJBs), converting it into a weight bearing plug that has no exposed wires.  Using SQL's plug, anyone can safely install ceiling and wall lights and ceiling fans in minutes, without the aid of professional electricians.  SQL's technology is UL and CSA certified and licensed by GE.  Installing a ceiling light is as simple as pushing the fixture in place and pressing a button.

SQL's technology is comprised of two parts: a female receptacle that is secured to existing electrical junction boxes, into which electrical and ground wires are simply inserted and locked into holes on the device, and a male plug that is preinstalled on the lighting or fan fixture.  Once the female piece is easily attached to the junction box, any lighting or fan fixture into which the male plug is incorporated can be installed in literally seconds.  SQL's technology will be pre-installed in all types of lighting fixtures, including holiday themed lighting, and ceiling fans, both indoor and outdoor.
