SAHMs Don't Have it Easy: New Tee Validating the Hard Work of Stay-at-home Moms Goes Viral Overnight
NEW YORK, July 28, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Less than 24 hours after KreadivKlothing founder Arielle Hall posted a photo of her company's first t-shirt on the new KreadivKlothing Facebook page, the shirt has gone viral with nearly 1,200 likes and more than 200 shares. What's behind the buzz? It's the t-shirt's message. Proclaiming "SAHMs DON'T HAVE IT EASY (IT'S CALLED 'HARD WORK')," KreadivKlothing's debut product has touched on something powerful among stay-at-home moms: the knowledge that their job is no walk in the park.

Available in ten colors and in sizes ranging from extra-small to 4XL, KreadivKlothing's "SAHMs DON'T HAVE IT EASY" t-shirt is available for purchase through August 16 as a Teespring campaign. Teespring allows consumers to order t-shirts during limited campaign periods, after which the shirts are shipped to buyers.
The "SAHMs DON'T HAVE IT EASY" shirt appears to have struck a chord among at-home moms, with many Facebook commenters tagging friends and family members. "I worked for 12 years and maintained a clean house [and] did dinner for my family," said one Facebook commenter. "For me it was easier to work full-time and do mom duties than to be a SAHM, which I am now."
Those are the sentiments expressed by many of the stay-at-home moms and former stay-at-home moms she knows, says Hall. "I created the shirt from personal experience. I think stay-at-home moms are often discounted as lazy or viewed as having it easier than their working counterparts, but in truth, staying at home with children full-time is real work. It can be mentally, emotionally, and physically draining."
Hall cautioned that her company is not about pitting working moms against at-home moms: Both groups, she says, are doing the work of raising the next generation, and that's what counts. "At KreadivKlothing we believe every mom works, whether she's primarily doing so outside the home or inside the home," she said. "With our first shirt, we're acknowledging that stay-at-home moms rarely get the validation that, yes, their job is work. It's a labor of love, to be sure, but it is still hard work."
So far, over a thousand people agree with Hall. If the first 24 hours of the "SAHMs DON'T HAVE IT EASY" Teespring campaign are any indication, many more moms feel the same.
