Long-Standing Relationship Providing Data Integration and Risk Analysis Services in Support of Hazardous Materials and Pipeline Transportation Safety across the United States
FAIRFAX, Va., March 10, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Salient CRGT, Inc., a leading provider of full lifecycle information technology and data analytics services, today announced a prime contract award from the Department of Transportation (DOT) Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA). Salient CRGT will continue to provide data warehousing support, dashboards, reports, and applications that integrate more than 4 million multi-agency records originating from 70 data sources in to a single operating picture. This five-year effort is valued at approximately $9 million.
For the past seven years, Salient CRGT has developed, maintained, and operated the Multimodal HazMat Intelligence Portal (HIP) and Pipeline Data Mart (PDM). An eGovernment initiative, HIP is an essential system for the secure sharing of critical hazardous material information.
The PHMSA mission is to protect people and the environment from the risks of hazardous materials transportation. To do this, the agency establishes national policy, sets and enforces standards, educates, and conducts research to prevent incidents. The agency also prepares the public and first responders to reduce consequences if an incident does occur.
