Salient Federal Solutions Appoints Carlos Fernandes as Director of the Cyber Security Center of Excellence (CSCoE)

FAIRFAX, Va., Jan. 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Salient Federal Solutions, Inc. Fernandes will be responsible for developing and implementing Salient's Cyber Security strategy and expanding market distinctions and innovations of the CSCoE to include a full range of cyber security capabilities for predicting and preventing cyber incidents. He joins Salient after successfully serving as Founder and Managing Principal/CEO at Agile Cyber Security Solutions LLC, a veteran-owned small business, providing Cyber Security consulting services to state, local, DoD, IC, and commercial client relationships. With over 21 years of intensive and progressive experience in information security, Fernandes is an accomplished and seasoned security professional with expert level experience in Information Assurance (IA) and Cyber Security (CS). Prior to his roles in Cyber Security, Fernandes served in the United States Air Force as an Intelligence Applications Officer during Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

Fernandes brings over a decade of experience in international project management supporting U.S. Government customers including CIA, ODNI, NRO, NSA, DISA, and DIA. Fernandes holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Military Institute (VMI) and Master's coursework in INFOSEC Business Administration from James Madison University (JMU) with advanced certifications from CIA, NSA, and USAF Intelligence School.
