Salient Federal Solutions Appoints Cynthia Walker as Director of the Data Analytics Center of Excellence (DACoE)

FAIRFAX, Va., March 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Salient Federal Solutions, Inc. (Salient), a leading provider of information technology, training, engineering, and intelligence analytics services to agencies in the intelligence, defense, homeland security, cyber security, and federal civilian markets, today announced the appointment of Cynthia Walker as Director of Salient's Data Analytics Center of Excellence (DACoE).

Ms. Walker will be responsible for developing and implementing Salient's Data Analytics strategy and expanding market distinctions and innovations of the DACoE to include predictive analytics, agile business intelligence, and big data solutions for Salient's clients. Ms. Walker has over 25 years of information management and business intelligence expertise and has served as strategic advisor and architect guiding enterprise transformation, knowledge management, enterprise data management, and information sharing efforts across the Federal market. Ms. Walker is a frequent speaker and trainer at national and international conferences and workshops. She is also an author of numerous articles and white papers on enterprise data management topics. At the upcoming Enterprise Data World conference in Austin, TX on April 27 - May 1, she will present how to enhance traditional data management approaches and produce high value business insights using semantic technologies with readily available data sources. In June 2013, she presented her perspective on Predictive Analytics at the U.S. Department of State's Moneyball Diplomacy conference.

She joins Salient after serving as a Director at Pragmatics, Inc. where she helped financial regulatory agency clients mitigate risks more effectively and fulfill statutory obligations of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform Act. Recently, Ms. Walker helped a federal financial regulator analyze large volumes of data (structured and unstructured) to evaluate potential systemic financial risk. She used data analytics and risk modeling to help the regulator evaluate the potential risks associated with large banks' global payment, clearing, and settlement practices.

From 1999 through 2011, Ms. Walker worked for KGS, Inc. and its predecessor, Pinkerton Computer Consultants Incorporated, to deliver innovative data solutions for homeland security, intelligence, civilian agency, and national defense clients. In the years prior, Ms. Walker spent 15 years with Acton Burnell, where she served as Vice President, managing the delivery of enterprise data management consulting solutions for federal agencies and private sector corporations.
