Salient Federal Solutions Awarded $4M Enterprise Hosting Managed Services Contract for EEOC

FAIRFAX, Va., Feb. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Salient Federal Solutions, Inc. (Salient), a leading provider of information technology, training, engineering, and intelligence analytic services to agencies in the intelligence, defense, homeland security, cyber security, and federal civilian markets, today announced the award of a prime contract to continue significant support of cloud-based solutions to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) program. This five-year award is anticipated at $4 million. The EEOC is a federal agency charged with enforcing laws prohibiting job discrimination.

Under this contract, Salient will provide a cloud-based managed services environment to host specific components of its data center operations including; EEOC core mission applications, intranet and internet e-government applications, disaster recovery operations, and telecommunications infrastructure. Salient will deliver enterprise architecture and engineering support related to the migration and performance of hosted systems, system integration, and system/telecommunications optimization including; cloud-brokerage services and integrating third party software-as-a-service applications into the hosted systems and applications.

Additional work may include use of cloud-based deployment options, such as; Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and/or Software as a Service (SaaS) to introduce innovations and improvements. These deployment options could address an innovative disaster recovery model that provides near real-time Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs) for key applications, FedRAMP security compliance, and a unified security-monitoring suite for continuous monitoring. This would enable EEOC to achieve infrastructure and application consistency, real-time statistics, 24x7x365 monitoring, and 99.99% up time.
