FAIRFAX, Va., Oct. 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Salient Federal Solutions, Inc. (Salient), a leading provider of information technology, training, engineering, and intelligence analytic services to agencies in the intelligence, defense, homeland security, cyber security, and federal civilian markets, today announced it has successfully implemented USXPORTS v12 to the Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Commerce (DoC), and the Department of State (DoS) in support of the Presidential Export Control Reform Initiative to process items on the Munitions Articles and Services List (MASL).

This major milestone will allow the U.S. government to process munition controlled items on behalf of the International Trade Arms Regulation (ITAR) seamlessly, in one system, throughout their adjudication process. USXPORTS improves the quality of the reviews that protect military capabilities, standardizes data and systems architecture among government agencies, and accelerates the licensing process workflow to meet global marketplace demands.
Salient is currently supporting the Defense Technology Security Administration (DTSA) with USXPORTS, an interagency program established by the DoD to address and solve automation challenges between DoD, DoC, and DoS systems and processes.
"We applaud the outstanding performance of the Salient USXPORTS team to deliver a technically sound system to benefit the U.S Government," says Tim Hoffman, Deputy Director of DTSA. "With the upgraded system DoD and DoS take advantage of thousands of improvements and changes, including enhanced processes, new capabilities, and built in cooperation with stakeholders."
As background, USXPORTS v12 is designed to reduce license processing times by providing more flexibility and automation in staffing across the interagency in a single information technology system. The system will enable all interagency analysts to efficiently scrutinize complex licenses involving critical technology and enable the analysts to quickly resolve and clear large numbers of licenses that may not require extensive interagency review.
"The successful deployment of USXPORTS v12 supports the goal to achieve a single IT System for the President's Export Control Reform Initiative and brings agility and efficiency for U.S. Government to support Interagency License Processing for Munitions License Requests," says Brad Antle, CEO of Salient. "It will improve transparency to those agencies reviewing export license applications and providing results to the U.S. Exporter."
