FAIRFAX, Va., May 29, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Salient Federal Solutions, Inc. (Salient), a leading provider of information technology, engineering, and intelligence analytic services to federal agencies and commercial markets, today announced its support of the World IPv6 Launch June 6, 2012.

On the 2011 World IPv6 Day, Salient made the commitment to keep its network IPv6 enabled continuously. The countdown has now begun for all internet service providers (ISPs), home networking equipment manufacturers, and web companies around the world to permanently enable IPv6 for their products and services. Salient is partnering with customers to smoothly transition to IPv6 and to educate employees about building IPv6 networks as well as securing them.  Earlier this year, The North America IPv6 Task Force awarded Salient their Gold Certification for its "Building IPv6 Networks" training course, making it the first defense contractor to earn the distinction/accreditation. In addition, Salient's engineers and training staff have earned Gold Certifications. These prestigious certificates demonstrate Salient's ability to maintain a measureable leadership within the IPv6 community.

Salient has been working with the Defense and Intelligence agencies over the last year to prepare for a secure and smooth transition to IPv6, providing them with a roadmap to a secure future. To assist its customers in this transition, Salient has successfully developed its Assure6 product suite – the first cyber security policy manager to detect and block malicious attacks and is now the most trusted intrusion prevention and detection system that safeguards IPv6 traffic.  Salient's Cyber Security Center of Excellence provides the expertise necessary to create master IPv6 cyber security plans, and trains system and network engineers on the implementation of IPv6.

"One of Salient's primary focuses is cyber security against sophisticated virus and system hackers which pose a real challenge for the nation," says Brad Antle, CEO of Salient. "We continuously anticipate change and have considerable resources and leadership commitment to respond to these asymmetric threats."

In support of the World IPv6 Launch, Salient has proactively participated in panel discussions on implementing IPv6 and ensuring OMB compliancy. Salient continues to be engaged on upcoming speaking panels as Senior Director, IPv6 Network Architect, Jeremy Duncan, will be speaking at the IPv6 Federal Techtorial event on IPv6 Network Management on May 30, 2012.
