HOUSTON, April 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Salient MLP & Energy Infrastructure Fund (the "Fund") announced today that the underwriters of its recently completed secondary public offering of 900,000 common shares, which closed on March 26, 2013, exercised in full their over-allotment option to purchase an additional 135,000 common shares at the public offering price of $27.55 per common share. The issuance of these additional common shares closed on April 9, 2013 and net proceeds received by the Fund from the sale of these additional common shares were approximately $3,573,450, bringing the total net proceeds from the secondary offering to approximately $27,396,450. The net proceeds will be used to make additional portfolio investments that are consistent with the Fund's investment objective and policies. The Fund is listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "SMF".
