Today's launch is now proceeding to the next Phase of our plan. We have increased the ways in which the paper can be purchased by placing QR Codes on it for cell phone donations with instant digital downloads available and with Monthly, Quarterly, Annual Subscriptions that can be purchased and the Vendors will receive credit for the transaction and receive the paper by either digital media or having the papers mailed to them.
Through this paper we have improved the community by deterring panhandling with honest opportunities for the poor and less fortunate of Salt Lake City. We have empowered over 265 homeless and poor by giving them an avenue to generate an honest income which can help them get off the streets. The information, contained in the street news, advocacy, and self-expression, continues to help overcome ignorance and create opportunities for "real change, not just spare change."
"This is a Grassroots Movement to help the homeless, and the less fortunate of Salt Lake become self-employed, become motivated and live a better life. The Homeless are not helpless when you have the Salt Lake Street News," according to Brad Jaques spokesman for Salt Lake City Mission/Salt Lake Street News.
Please help hard working homeless men and women. Please support our vendors by buying a paper for a donation of $2, or more, when you see them.
Salt Lake Street News is a member of INSP (International Network of Street Papers) Vendors will be held to a strict "Code of Conduct." The paper will include local and national news about homelessness that that other papers don't cover. This demonstrates SALT LAKE CITY MISSION's deep commitment to helping the community at large with the problems of homelessness and poverty.
