'Same Kind of Different as Me,' Nominated for Dove Award
DALLAS, Oct. 9, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The Gospel Music Awards, to be held in Nashville on October 16, 2018, announced that the movie Same Kind of Different as Me was nominated for Inspirational Film of the Year, Dove Award. The movie, based on the New York Times best seller, stars Renee Zellweger, Greg Kinnear, Djimon Hounsou and Jon Voight. The book was co-written by Ron Hall and Denver, a homeless man. Mr. Hall befriended him after his late wife Debbie had a dream about a poor wise man who would change the city.
The debut of the movie set in motion a whirlwind of events that allowed Mr. Hall to share his story, bring awareness to the issues surrounding homelessness and raise over 100 million dollars to help those organizations that provide services to the homeless. Most recently, The Same Kind of Different as Me was released on Netflix.
Mr. Hall has completed a sequel to the first book, titled "Workin Our Way Home", now available for purchase on Amazon and other retail outlets.

After ten years of traveling and fundraising by Mr. Hall and Denver, Miss Debbie's dream became a reality with the building of a new Mission Center for the Homeless. The center provides emergency care for women, children, veterans, and senior citizens.
On Friday, October 5th a new streaming talkshow produced by The Time Group debuted on Facebook Live and YouTube. On Saturday, October 6th, Mr. Hall participated in a TEDx event. He mentored a young homeless man named "kNOw Cash," who is the first homeless person to speak and sing at a TEDx event.
