Samsung Galaxy Tab on T-Mobile Delivers Best Android Performance for Mobile Shopping, Finds Marlin Mobile Test

Marlin Mobile tested the technical performance of 300 Android devices running on Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile networks between November 13 and December 13, 2010 to measure the speed at which they downloaded content from the mobile home pages of two leading ecommerce brands.
The Marlin Mobile test found that the Samsung Galaxy Tab running on T-Mobile delivered the fastest mobile web experience with both mobile sites downloading full content at average speeds of 3.28 Kilobytes per second(1). Conversely, the Motorola i1 device running on Sprint/Nextel downloaded full site content at average speeds of 0.24 Kilobytes per second. The test was conducted using the Marlin Mobile Test Network, the industry's only genuine mobile web test network comprised of user-owned mobile devices located throughout the United States. Each Android device was tested once an hour, capturing the specific profile of each device at the time of the test – device location, carrier signal strength, battery state, and operating system. Results were then averaged out over the course of the test.
