San Francisco Legend Willie Brown, Jr. Speaks at IICF Fundraising Event
SAN FRANCISCO, April 26, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF) announced the Honorable Willie L. Brown, Jr. will be the keynote speaker at the organization's 19th annual benefit dinner being held Thursday, May 3, 2012 at the Four Seasons Hotel, San Francisco. Brown will join with hundreds of insurance professionals celebrating leaders in education at the industry philanthropic event.

Brown boasts a distinguished public service career spanning four decades. As a two-term Mayor of San Francisco and former Speaker of the California State Assembly, Brown has been at the center of California politics and is widely regarded as the most influential African-American politician of the late twentieth century. Today, Brown heads the Willie L. Brown, Jr., Institute on Politics and Public Service, sharing his knowledge and skills with a new generation of California leaders.

Nonprofit Boys Hope Girls Hope San Francisco Bay Area will also be honored as recipient of an IICF special grant for their efforts to assist local San Francisco youth reach their full potential through academically-focused programs.
In addition to honoring leaders in community education, the IICF event will recognize the contributions of educational leaders within the insurance industry, highlighting local CPUC chapters and California State University, Fullerton's Center for Insurance Studies.
The IICF annual benefit dinner provides an opportunity for professionals from across the industry to come together in a united philanthropic effort, raising vital funds for local nonprofits. Proceeds from the evening will benefit multiple nonprofits through the Foundation's community grants program. To date, the Industry Foundation has contributed over $18 million and 155,000 volunteer service hours to hundreds of community organizations.
