San Francisco Photographer Hemali Zaveri Launches New "I Am an Immigrant" E-Book
Hemali Zaveri has used her photography to create an e-book to publicize the faces of immigrants today in the Bay Area.
SAN FRANCISCO, April 6, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Photographer Hemali Zaveri has launched a very special project that touches on one of the biggest debates in America today - immigration. She has used her photography skills to capture the portraits of immigrants in the Bay Area and provides the images in the e-book, "I Am an Immigrant." The e-book is available for download with iBooks on a Mac or iOS device.
"My goal is always to empower others through my art. Right now, I am also working as a philanthropist and a photo therapist through Heaven's Door Cancer Foundation, for women who face cancer " says Zaveri. The "I Am an Immigrant" e-book was based on art and a journalistic approach on my subjects to give a face to the people behind the stories capturing the nation's attention. We are all one race, the human race, and it was important for me to capture this through my work."
Zaveri was born in Mumbai, India, and her photography focuses on portraits, dance, still life and capturing beautiful images that speak and resonate with her audience. Zaveri is donating 50 percent of the net sales of her new e-book to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), who often represent immigrants and others in legal violations of their civil rights.
