"Investing for Impact San Francisco" will focus on how advisors can address the current demands of socially conscious investors by teaching the basics of sustainable portfolio management, with presentations on subjects such as fossil fuel free investments, high-demand green bonds, and the quickly evolving definition of fiduciary duty. This event series is designed for investors and investment professionals who are interested in putting money to work to change the world through sustainable and responsible investment strategies, but who may not have all the right tools at their fingertips.
Event organizers expect to offer up to four hours of continuing education (CE) credit for investment professionals who hold a CFP, CFA, or CIMA designation. San Francisco will be the first stop for similar financial professional training sessions through the first half of this year in Portland, Chicago, New York, and Boston. Investing for Impact events in 2016 will culminate with the 27th annual SRI Conference – on Sustainable, Responsible, Impact Investing, November 9-11, 2016 in Denver, Colorado, where the theme will be "All In For Impact."
First Affirmative Financial Network President Steve Schueth said: "Although the SRI landscape is rapidly expanding, many investment advisors across the country are still attempting to serve socially conscious clients without much support from their firms, and without a great deal of the information and insights that impact-oriented clients require. That's where our regional 'Investing for Impact' event series comes into play—offering the information, tools, resources, and services that advisors need to meet the growing demand for more responsible investment strategies."
