SAN DIEGO, Nov. 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Sansay™, Inc., a pioneer in developing innovative VoIP and WebRTC systems for the communication-services-provider market, today announced that its software-enabled session border controllers (SBCs) have been proclaimed "visionary" by Gartner, Inc., the highly regarded IT industry research and advisory firm.
Gartner's latest "Magic Quadrant" report on SBCs for the first time includes Sansay's products, which the company delivers to more than 350 providers of communications services around the world.
The Gartner report, published Oct. 21, highlights the readiness of Sansay's SBC products for the emerging WebRTC category of services as a particular strength because they are " 'cloud ready' and provide features such as session management and security policies managed across a network of servers."
Of importance to services providers, the report stated that Sansay's session controller product "supports multiple applications and wholesale, residential, prepaid, SIP trunking and hosted business voice services with routing, peering and security capabilities. It offers a variety of complementary products for routing, management and monitoring and local number portability. Its SBC products have a range of supporting 25,000 to 50,000 concurrent sessions, and the routing, management and monitoring products can increase the calls-per-second volume."
Sansay's vision, according to the report, "is focused on technologies that leverage its software-based architecture; therefore, virtual machines and data plane development kit technologies are key to its product development and innovation strategies."
Further, the Gartner report said Sansay's recently launched WebSBC™ "promises to maximize the performance, profitability and growth of (VoIP) networks and services. It is available for evaluation in both service-provider-hosted and platform-as-a service models."
The report noted that Sansay's Real-Time App Developer [RAPID) program "aims to minimize the time to market for creating and deploying WebRTC apps for both service provider and enterprise markets."
