Saving Lives at the 7th Annual InPro Blood Drive and Fun Fair

TROY, Mich., June 4, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- InPro Insurance Group, in partnership with Barnard Elementary school, recently brought the community together to have fun for a serious purpose: saving lives. During the 7th Annual InPro Blood Drive and Fun Fair, a total of 146 pints of blood were collected, helping the American Red Cross of Southeastern Michigan save an estimated 438 lives.

Held at Barnard Elementary school on May 29, the event included food, music, entertainment and a variety of activities, such as bounce houses, games and face painting.

The Blood Drive and Fun Fair works to raise awareness and educate the community and students of Barnard Elementary school about blood supply needs and the importance of community service. This event strives to create a fun environment that brings the community together. The blood gained from the drive will help support local hospitals, with each pint of blood helping up to three people.

The event is held right after Memorial Day to assist in replenishing blood supplies, which are typically low in summer, especially after holiday weekends. Since its founding in 2006, the InPro Blood Drive and Fun Fair has helped the American Red Cross collect 1,014 pints of blood.
