Savitz Releases Its Eighth Edition Of The Annual Survey On Health And Benefits Delivering Current Year Benefit Analysis For Employers In The Northeast Region
PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Savitz Organization -- Initially developed to provide regional clients a credible source of current year information to easily compare medical plan designs and costs to other area employers, The Savitz Organization (www.savitz.com) expanded the 2013 survey to include key employer initiatives in the face of cost control coupled with healthcare reform. The survey also provides an overview of other benefit programs to gauge how their total benefits offering compares with others in our survey group.
"Since we began our survey, the employee benefit plan market has changed dramatically. With the passing of the Affordable Care Act, employers are under continued pressure to comply with the challenging regulations and ongoing changing timeframes all while trying to keep their benefits plan competitive in the local market," says President Ed Bishop. "A lot of companies are struggling to find a new way to change the paradigm of responding to changing environments and managing operations. This survey helps local employers identify where they stand in relation to other employers in the Mid-Atlantic region, and provides them the tools they need to develop a more effective benefits plan structure that will have a positive impact on their business goals and operations."
Key findings from the 2013 Savitz Survey indicate that, in addition to focusing on controlling health plan costs, employers must now devote resources to compliance with healthcare reform initiatives. While survey employers report that they expect to continue shifting more plan cost to employees through increases in premium cost sharing, they are also accelerating their movement toward longer term cost control strategies, such as wellness, consumer driven health plans, private exchanges and defined contribution approaches to health plan design.
From these published survey results, Savitz' Health and Welfare consulting team is able to provide employers benchmarking assessments that evaluate their specific health benefits design compared to the survey group, along with additional comparisons to national survey data.
"Our benchmarking assessment approach enables clients to understand how their benefits compare to regional companies as well as employers nationally. With the understanding of how current trends affect plan costs and employee choice, employers are better positioned to meet their benefit strategy goals to ensure health benefits remain a competitive and open choice for their employees," says Senior Health and Welfare Consultant Jill Still. "Now is the time for companies to understand how their benefits programs compare to the market and use this information as plan designs are being evaluated for 2014. Savitz has the expertise for providing health and welfare consulting and administrative solutions that deliver value."
