S&C Electric Company achieves LEEDv4 Silver Rating for New Power Systems Solutions Office Building through partnership with The Hill Group
CHICAGO, Oct. 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, The Hill Group announced that through its partnership, S&C Electric Company's new Power System Solutions facility has achieved a Silver Rating through the LEEDv4 beta program for new construction. This facility is the third new construction project worldwide to be awarded the LEEDv4 certification, the first to achieve a Silver rating, and the first new construction office building to achieve LEEDv4 certification. Credits were achieved for implementing optimized energy efficient systems, water reduction strategies, advanced lighting strategies, fundamental building systems commissioning, enhanced commissioning, advanced energy metering, sustainable waste management, thermal comfort verification, measurement and verification, and indoor air quality management.

S&C Electric partnered with The Hill Group to provide mechanical and plumbing systems design, construction, LEED consultation, and commissioning services. The Hill Group worked closely with the U.S. Green Building Council to refine the LEEDv4 beta program prior to the formal release of LEEDv4 as a new standard. The facility is the highlight of S&C Electric's campus on the north side of Chicago and is currently being submitted for several awards for green building design and construction.
