RACINE, Wis., Nov. 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- For the 10th consecutive year, SC Johnson has been recognized by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Corporate Equality Index. The HRC Corporate Equality Index rates companies on a scale of 0 to 100 on their fair treatment of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender employees, consumers and investors. This year SC Johnson received a score of 100 percent.

The Corporate Equality Index rated a total of 889 companies this year. SC Johnson was evaluated in five main categories: Non-Discriminatory/Equal Employment Opportunity Policy, Spousal and Partner Benefits, Transgender Inclusive Benefits, Organizational LGBT Competency, and Public Engagement.
SC Johnson, Foley & Lardner LLP and Rockwell Automation are among the Wisconsin companies included in the survey to achieve perfect scores. Wisconsin was the first state to ban employee discrimination based on sexual orientation in 1982.
The HRC is the nation's largest advocacy group for gay, bisexual, transgendered and lesbian Americans.

In addition, 79 Fortune 1000 companies, 141 law firms and 175 other companies voluntarily participated in the 2013 CEI. Voluntary participation in the CEI has doubled since its inception. In 2002, 319 companies participated; this year 688 companies participated.
