The client's legacy MySQL-based system couldn't process real-time streams of up to 1,000 data points per second across dozens of metrics. Regulatory requirements in regions like Saudi Arabia added complexity, necessitating both cloud and on-premises deployments.

The Scalefocus team overhauled the entire platform and increased capacity to 600+ channels streaming 1,000 data points per second each, enabling drilling operators to monitor critical metrics such as vibration, flow, and speed in real time.

Operators now receive immediate feedback on drilling conditions and equipment status – far beyond the previous standard, where crucial data was only available hourly or even the next day. The project also incorporates hybrid cloud capabilities to meet strict regional compliance requirements, allowing seamless deployment across AWS, Azure, and on-premises environments. This ensures that clients in highly regulated markets, such as Saudi Arabia and Algeria, where cloud storage isn't an option, can fully leverage the innovation without compromising sovereignty or security.

The Results

Thе leap in data visibility has translated into substantial client value: downtime reductions, faster operational decisions, and efficiency improvements estimated at 10% per drilling site – a savings potential of more than €7.5 million per well. With over 150 drilling sites already using the platform, the global impact is measured in hundreds of millions of euros saved.
