Schneider National Offering Experienced Drivers a $5,000 Sign-On Bonus to Join Tanker Division
Continued growth creates opportunity for experienced drivers
GREEN BAY, Wis., Sept. 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Schneider National Bulk Carriers, one of the nation's largest liquid bulk carriers, is experiencing significant demand for its industry-leading chemical hauling services. In fact, the demand is so great that the company's tanker division is rewarding experienced drivers with a $5,000 sign-on bonus ($10,000 for teams). Positions are available in many areas across the Midwest, South and Northeast; interested drivers willing to relocate are eligible for a $3,000 sign-on bonus and a $2,000 relocation allowance. Opportunities also exist for recent driving school graduates.
"Our reputation as the best chemical hauler in the country gets stronger every year," said George Grossardt, vice president and general manager, Schneider National Bulk Carriers. "Couple that with the solid growth of the chemical industry, and it's no surprise that our need for more drivers grows too. We are excited to grow our business and provide more stable, well-paying jobs for professional drivers."
According to Bulk Transporter magazine, Schneider moved up four spots in the magazine's annual gross revenue report rankings, jumping from number eight in 2011 to number four in 2012.
There are a lot of other plusses to being a tanker driver for Schneider National. These driving professionals are offered a unique time-off schedule in which they pick the six days they want off each month, and Schneider accommodates those date preferences. Experienced drivers can earn over $60,000 in their first year and will receive one of the industry's best benefits packages. Many, like veteran tanker driver David Bost, also find it to be a fun and unique career.
"I drive tanks for Schneider because I like the challenge," says Bost. "I like the aspect of being able to work with the customer and to unload their products in a timely and safe manner versus being able to just open up the trailer door and back up to a dock."
