Scholarship Honors Sacrifices of Families in Law Enforcement
Maine Law Firm Offers Scholarship for Undergraduate or Law Student with Family Member in Law Enforcement
LEWISTON, Maine, May 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Fales & Fales, P.A., a Maine law firm that represents victims of personal injuries and wrongful death, has announced a scholarship opportunity for undergraduates and law students who have family ties to law enforcement. All students who have family members that are either active in or retired from law enforcement and who will be enrolled in an accredited university or law school during the Fall 2015 semester are encouraged to apply.
The firm's scholarship announcement coincides with National Police Week 2015. Since 1962, the week of May 15 (Peace Officers Memorial Day) has been set aside as a time to reflect on the commitment of law enforcement officers and honor those who have lost their lives in the line of duty. National Police Week draws tens of thousands of active and retired officers and their families to the nation's capitol to share in remembrance, brotherhood and celebration.
Attorneys Jennifer Ferguson and Anthony Ferguson of Fales & Fales, P.A. take pride in recognizing the service and sacrifices of law enforcement officers and their families. This scholarship opportunity – which will help ease the financial burden of higher education for one deserving family – is a valuable way to express their gratitude for all that the nation's policemen, police women and other law enforcement officers endure for the benefit of others.
Jennifer and Tony chose to establish the Law Enforcement Family Member Scholarship based in part on Tony's own personal experience. Tony's father, Arthur Ferguson, served with the Lewiston Police Department in Lewiston, ME. He passed away during Tony's senior year of college. As a member of a proud law enforcement family, Tony understands the value that financial assistance such as the Law Enforcement Family Member Scholarship can provide.
As personal injury attorneys and active members of their community, Jennifer and Tony maintain close relationships with law enforcement officers in the community. These officers' personal commitments and sacrifices continue to inspire Jennifer and Tony to do their part to support law enforcement families.
The winner of the Law Enforcement Family Member Scholarship will be announced on or about September 30, 2015. Details on how to apply can be found on Fales & Fales, P.A.'s website: http://www.faleslaw.com/law-enforcement-family-member-scholarship.html.
