Scorpio Mining Announces Resignation of COO Tom McGrail and Subsequent Appointment as a Director of the Corporation

TORONTO, Oct. 25, 2013 /CNW/ - Scorpio Mining Corporation (TSX: SPM) ("Scorpio Mining" or the "Company") today announced the resignation of Mr. Thomas (Tom) McGrail from the position of Chief Operating Officer ("COO"), effective November 1, 2013. Mr. McGrail, who was based in Cosalá, Mexico, has tendered his resignation in order to attend to pressing family matters which will require more of his time to be spent at home with his family

The Board of Scorpio Mining has invited, and Mr. McGrail has agreed to join the Board as a Director. His expertise and first-hand knowledge of the Company's operations in Mexico will thus continue to be utilized by the Company. This new role will commence November 1, 2013
