On Sunday April 13th, Kash Soni, a Cub Scout Leader from Greenford & District Scouts (12th Northolt Scout Group - West London), will be running the Virgin London Marathon 2014 to raise money for the UK Scout Association.
The London Marathon is one of the most prestigious marathons in the world, attracting some of best athletes and runners in the world (such as Stephen Kiprotich and Mo Farah) and totals a distance of a gruelling 26.2 miles through some of London's most famous landmarks.
Each year the Scout Association helps 400,000 young people in the UK enjoy new adventures; to experience the outdoors; interact with others, gain confidence and have the opportunity to reach their full potential. Scouts develop skills including teamwork, time management, leadership, initiative, planning, communication, self-motivation, cultural awareness, and commitment.
Since January 2014, Kash has been in an intense bespoke training programme provided by Matthew Sills, a personal trainer from Trojan Fitness (http://www.trojanfitness.com). Matthew has helped Kash reach the peak of his physical fitness by training over 4 times a week since the programme began.
Kash has been involved in a number of fundraising events to date and has even picked up media coverage in local papers in order to help raise funds for the Scout Association
