scoutPRO™ Achieves Highly Accurate Ratings for 2011 Fantasy Football Season
ATLANTA, Jan. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- CSA announced that during the 2011 Fantasy Football season, scoutPRO recommendations for starting fantasy football players exceeded other tools and analysts with an overall 71.2% accuracy rating. At the Quarterback position, scoutPRO recommendations were 74.7% accurate. scoutPRO's accuracy ratings exceeded those of ESPN Experts, CBS Projections, and Bloomberg Sports over the NFL season.
scoutPRO technology helps the Fantasy Football General Manager (GM) optimize their roster and win their league. According to Shawn Childs, scoutPRO Lead Data Analyst, "There is no easy path in the fantasy market when results are based on huge variables on the football field each Sunday. Unlike most fantasy sites that provide weekly rankings, we find the right mix of objective and subjective data based on that week's matchups. By the end of the season, we made great progress in our ability to deliver results. In the off season, we will reflect on 2011 and our team will find ways to improve our software to deliver the best results on the market."
scoutPRO's accuracy is independently calculated each week using NFL player fantasy point performance. The accuracy of scoutPRO's predictions is then compared against fifteen other analysts and fantasy football tools. Predictions and recommendations are measured against realized performance weekly using simulation and other statistical methods by a PhD Student in Industrial and Systems Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Paul Kerl, the Georgia Tech PhD student that performs the accuracy measures explains, "I independently measure the weekly and overall accuracy of several fantasy football analysts and tools by comparing analysts' predictions of NFL player performance to the final fantasy point results. I then provide these accuracy measures to scoutPRO in order to provide a realistic look at how well their player rankings compare against other high-performance fantasy football analysts and tools."
Diane Bloodworth, CSA CEO commented "We are committed to having the most accurate fantasy football recommendations available and will continue to improve and enhance our scoutPRO for fantasy football product."
